Gaylesville basketball sweeps Georgia School for the Deaf

GAYLESVILLE – The Gaylesville boys and girls varsity basketball teams swept Georgia School for the Deaf Thursday. The Lady Trojans won 55-29, while the boys earned a 64-32 victory in the nightcap.

In the girls game, Taylor Tomlin tallied 19 points and Alex Montgomery added 13 to lead Gaylesville (4-1).

The Lady Trojans led 19-15 at halftime, but outscored the Lady Tigers 36-14 in the second half for the win.

In boys action, Gable Lawson topped Gaylesville scorers with 15 points. Blaine Broome added 13 points and Cole Murphy finished with 12 points for the Trojans (1-4).

Both teams get back in action on Tuesday by hosting Collinsville beginning at 6 p.m.
