The 2012 Rock Run Christmas Parade on Cherokee County Road 29 is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 22, beginning at 3 p.m. Lineup begins at 2:30 p.m. at Rock Run Baptist Church, rain or shine. For more information, call Grady Rhinehart at 256-447-7366.

Visit the beautiful Rock Village, home of some of the best hiking and rock climbing throughout the world. Enjoy fresh air and beautiful scenery. Go to the intersection of U.S. Highway 411 and Highway 68 in Leesburg, turn right, turn left on Cherokee County 36, to the intersection of County Road 36 and County Road 70, turn left and follow the signs.

The Cherokee County Public Library has on ongoing book sale. Get paperbacks for as little as a dime and hardbacks for as little as 50 cents or $1. The library is open today from 8 a.m. until noon. Call the library at 256-927-5838 for further information.

Visit the historic Cornwall Furnace on Cherokee County Road 92 in Cedar Bluff.

The Cherokee County Invitational Basketball Tournament will be played at the Gadsden State Community College-Cherokee Arena. The girls’ consolationo game will be played at 2:30 p.m., the boys’ consolidation game will be played at 4 p.m., the girls’ championship game will be played at 5:30 p.m. and the boys’ championship game will be played at 7 p.m.

Everyone is invited to First Baptist Church of Centre’s Christmas services. “Look Who Just Checked in”, a Christmas worship celebration, which will be presented at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday Dec. 23rd in the sanctuary.

Upper Room Temple hosts a singing every fourth Sunday at 11 a.m. For more information, call 256-643-5896.

The public is invited to see the Gilley Christmas Light Display in Ball Play every night through December 27th. The light display is located on County Road 7 which turns into Gilley Road.

The Christmas Light Display on County Road 929 off County Road 44 at Leesburg will run each night through the holidays. This display is set to music and everyone is invited!
