Ohio man dies in local accident

An Ohio man was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle accident in Cherokee County Thursday afternoon, Jan. 10. The accident occurred around 5:55 p.m. on Alabama Highway 35 approximately seven miles north of Fort Payne.

The driver, according to the state trooper report, was identified as Brett Lonsbury, 30, of Maineville, Ohio, who was fatally injured in the accident. A passenger in the vehicle, Kevin James Lay of Loveland, Ohio, was injured ad transported to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for treatment.
