Mr. Larry Leon Hanson, 65 of Hopewell Community, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Hanson was a native of Jefferson County, and was a member of Hopewell Advent Christian Church.

Graveside services will be held 1 pm Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5 pm Tuesday evening at the residence, 180 Co. Rd. 383 Leesburg. Perry Funeral Home directing. www.perryfuneral.net.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Reeves Hanson, son, Lester (Kacie) Hanson of Whorton; daughter, Melissa (Jessie) Farr of Leesburg; four grandchildren, brothers, Don (Peggy) Hanson of Alabaster, Jack (Sherrie) Hanson of Ragland, Doug (Kim) Hanson of Ashville, sisters, Georgia Robertson of Birmingham, Judy (Johnny) Thompson of Leesburg, Nina (Hank) Champison of Boaz and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his brother, Royce Hanson.

Mr. Hanson was the son of the late George Marion and Margaret Ann Pike Hanson.
