Officers serving a warrant on a man who fled from police earlier this month said they not only got their man, but also recovered a quantity of suspected methampetamines and marijuana in the process.

According to Floyd County jail reports:

Bennie B. DuVall III, 25, 204 North Woods Drive, Rome, was arrested late Saturday night at the Hi-Tech Fuels convenience store at the intersection of Ga. 53 and Ga 140.

DuVall had fled from a traffic stop in the Shannon community back on Feb. 3. Officers who had warrants for the subject learned he was at the convenience store Saturday night and were able to get there before the man left.

While questioning DuVall, officers recovered a quantity of methamphetamine packaged for sale and a small amount of marijuana.

DuVall is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession with the intent to distribute, felony fleeing and attempting to elude police of the incident earlier this month and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He remained in jail with no bond set Sunday night.
