MRS. SIBYLE TUCKER LINDSEY

Mrs. Sibyle Tucker Lindsey, 88, of Cave Spring, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Born in Cherokee County, Alabama, Mrs. Lindsey graduated from the Cedar Bluff High School and attended a business college in Rome. She worked at Celanese in Rome for several years prior to her marriage. In 1959, Mrs. Lindsey went to work at the Cave Spring Post Office and retired as Postmaster in 1986. Mrs. Lindsey was a member of the Cave Spring United Methodist Church where for many years she was the organist. Mrs. Lindsey had also held multiple church offices and served in various ministries in her adult life.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lindsey will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Cave Spring United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Wilson and her son, Dr. Robin Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Cave Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking memorial contributions be made to the Cave Spring United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 305, Cave Spring, GA. 30124. John House’s Cave Spring Chapel directing.

Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her husband of more than 64 years, Shelton Lindsey, sons, Gary Lindsey and his wife Myra of Woodbridge, Virginia, Dr. Robin Lindsey and his wife Kathy of Dalton, three grandchildren, sisters, Mrs. Nell Loveless of Cedar Bluff, Mrs. H. D. (Helen) Robertson of Powder Springs, Mrs. June Meyer of Powder Springs, brothers, Harry and Brenda Tucker of Dallas, Larry and Jill Tucker of Tampa, Florida, sister in law, Mrs. Katie Jo Tucker of Chattanooga.

Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Gertrude Tucker, by infant twin sons, and by two brothers, Calvert Tucker and R. A. Tucker.
