Free, business workshop entitled Safety and Security for Small Businesses - A Community Concern” will take place at 7:30 a.m., Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce office, 801 Cedar Bluff Road, Bldg A Centre, AL 35960. Representatives from the Centre Fire Department will be on hand to help you ensure that your business has a fire safety plan and how you can work with the CFD to prevent damage. Representatives from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department and Centre Police Department will also present tips to help keep you, your employees and your cash flow safe from potential robbery. Event sponsored by Cherokee County Industrial Development Authority, JSU Small Business Development Center and Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce. Call 256-927-8455 by March 1 to reserve your seat.

Children’s Story Time presents fun with stories, songs, crafts and more from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library.

Looking for a worthy chess opponent? The Chess Club meets Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library.

Weight Watchers meets every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the school bus shop in Centre. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 256-526-8003.

In high school softball action, Cedar Bluff plays at Collinsville beginning at 4:30 p.m., Spring Garden plays at Gaylesville beginning at 4:30 p.m., Sand Rock plays at Crossville beginning at 4:30 p.m. and Cherokee County plays at Saks beginning at 5 p.m.
