Ms. Shirley Knowles Stansell, 58 of the Mt. Vernon Community, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Stansell was a native of Chattooga County, Georgia.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dan Clanton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday, March 12, 2013. Perry Funeral Home directing. www.perryfuneral.net.

Survivors include sons, John (Kim) Stansell, Rainsville, Brent (Amanda) Stansell, Fort Payne, Todd (Ashley) Stansell, Fort Payne; brothers, Bobby Knowles, Valley Head, Billy Knowles, Rome, sister, Barbara (Rickey) Edwards, Gaylesville, and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Stansell was preceded in death by sisters, Brenda Knowles and Beverly Knowles.

Ms. Stansell was the daughter of the late William Lee and Margie Stinnett Knowles.
