All retirees of the Cherokee County Education Retirees Association are invited to attend the monthly meeting at Lanny’s beginning at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Fran Hawkins, speech therapist from Cherokee County. Her topic will be based on recognizing a speech warning of both the young children and us “ole timers.” Time permitting, Hawkins will take questions from the audience concerning our speech. After a short business meeting conducted by Billy Wayne Tillery, president, those attending are invited to stay for a “Dutch-treat” lunch and socialize with other retirees. The Cherokee County Council on the Arts would like to invite the public to a FREE PROGRAM at the Gadsden State Arena, Centre Campus, on March 13 at 9 a.m. This program will be presented by the Berea College Country Dancers and band. This Kentucky group has traced the dances they perform back to the British Isles. The dances were brought to this country during the settlement of the Appalachian Mountains. Please join the second through seventh graders of of our school system for this performance. This performance includes 7 Standards of the National Standards of Music Education.
