CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers have made the road their home away from home in the early part of the 2008 volleyball season, but on Thursday, they finally had their first home trimatch of the season.
Cedar Bluff took on Class 1A, Area 10 rival Gaylesville and Collinsville. The Lady Tigers lost to Collinsville 21-25, 25-22, 5-15, but rebounded to beat Gaylesville 25-10, 25-23.
In the loss to Collinsville, Jessica Brannon led the way for the Lady Tigers (4-10) with 12 kills and six digs. Destiny Humphrey added 21 assists and three kills. Audrianna Hargitt had six kills and Candria Dupree came away with 10 digs.
Tanessa Fife had four aces and a two kills and Hannah Leach posted four kills and three digs.
Against Gaylesville, Fife led the Lady Tigers with six aces, five kills and two assists. Brannon posted five kills and an ace. Humphrey had nine assists and two aces. Hargitt had seven kills and five aces and Dupree added five digs.
In other action, Collinsville defeated Gaylesville 25-8 and 25-17.
