Crane is a 2004 graduate of Gaylesville School, where, in addition to baseball, he played football, basketball and was also on the track team.
After graduating from Gaylesville, Crane played baseball at Snead State Community College.
Crane says he looks forward to playing for the Washington Nationals.
"I am very excited," said Crane. "This has always been a dream of mine. I've always been told I'm not good enough to play which pushed me to work harder. Now my dream is coming true."
