Sand Rock sweeps trimatch at Geraldine, will host Class 2A, Area 10 Tournament

GERALDINE – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats matched their win total from last season and improved to 37-4 following a trimatch sweep on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats defeated Crossville (25-14, 25-15), Sylvania (25-5, 25-13) and Geraldine in a best-of-five match (25-9, 25-15, 25-15).

With the wins, Sand Rock will host the Class 2A, Area 10 Tournament on Oct. 13.

Jennifer Campbell led the way with 28 kills and 17 digs. Lauren Bell added 34 digs and five aces. Chelsey Chambers came away with 70 assists, seven kills, six aces and 15 digs. Megan Battles had 21 kills and 15 digs. Gena Farmer tallied 14 digs and Karlie Anderson had seven kills.

Carrie Robertson posted 16 kills and four aces. Logan Smith had 10 aces and seven digs and Kayla Mashburn totaled four digs and three kills.

Sand Rock takes part in the Cherokee County Tournament on Saturday. The Lady Wildcats are the top seed in that tournament.
