Local agents arrested a local businessman on drug charges following the discovery of a methamphetamine lab in Centre Wednesday evening, July 15.

Arrested, according to reports, was Seth Adam Burt, 29, of Sand Rock, who was charged with unlawful possession of controlled substances (Methamphetamine) and unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance in the first degree.

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver members of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and Sheriffs Deputies conducted a search at Fast Motor Sports located at 1118 West Main Street in Centre, around 8 p.m. There authorities found a functional methamphetamine lab, which had produced crystal methamphetamine.

Agents of the Cherokee County Sheriffs’ Office Narcotics Unit and deputies remained on the scene for approximately four hours conducting the search and collecting evidence, Shaver said.

Burt, owner and operator of the business, was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center where he is detained pending a bond hearing.

Gee... Excuse me for the spelling error!!! It is sad when people want to make rude comments about someone's spelling as opposed to someone being arrested for makeing Meth.

No doubt, he should get time for it. At least 25 years. He was caught in the act making it and he tested positive for it. Trust me, I know because I know this person (no I am not a meth addict).

The Justice system doecsn't work most of the time because of over-crowding. I think it needs to be re-done and quit letting people get by with the crimes the have commited.

I think that if they are on death row, that it is a waste of taxpayer's money to prolong their sentence. We just need to go ahead with the punishment and get it over with. That way some other convicted person on death row can get theirs. At least that will make room for more criminals and maybe we can get them off of the streets!!!!

Look NO spelling errors!!!!! Amazing isn't it!!!!:)
