Cedar Bluff (14-16) and Gaylesville (14-17) also advanced to sub-state play from the regional.
Cedar Bluff travels to face Marion County on Thursday, while the Lady Trojans will travel to face Speake.
Gaston (42-5) first took care of Hazlewood 25-8, 25-4, 25-8 to advance to the semifinals. In the round of four, Gaston knocked off Cedar Bluff 25-5, 25-11, 25-14 to move to the finals, where the Lady Bulldogs then took care of Athens Bible 25-17, 19-25, 25-16, 25-23.
In the other first round matches, Athens Bible (31-16) defeated Collinsville 25-20, 25-22, 26-24; Gaylesville (14-17) knocked off Asbury 25-8, 25-9, 22-25, 25-10; and Cedar Bluff beat Whitesburg Academy 19-25, 25-11, 25-16, 25-14.
In the other semifinal, Athens Bible took down Gaylesville 25-9, 25-10, 25-12 with Cedar Bluff (14-16) then stopping Gaylesville 25-13, 25-8, 25-22 in the consolation match.
Against Whitesburg Christian, Jessica Brannon led Cedar Bluff with 14 kills and nine digs. Brannon also had eight kills and three digs against Gaylesville.
Destiny Humphrey had 30 assists and three aces against Whitesburg Christian. She posted 11 aces and three assists against Gaylesville.
Tanessa Fife came away with eight kills and six digs in the Whitesburg Christian match. She had four kills against Gaylesville.
Audrianna Hargitt had 15 kills and four aces against Whitesburg Christian. She posted eight kills against Gaylesville.
Hannah Leach tallied eight and four kills against Whitesburg Christian and Gaylesville respectively.
Candria Dupree finished with 20 and 10 digs respectively against Whitesburg Christian and Gaylesville.
"They're extremely excited, especially when they came back to beat Gaylesville," Cedar Bluff coach Terry Hopper said of her team advancing to sub-state. "They've worked hard and want to keep going, and I think that's what keeps them going."
Gaylesville was led by Krista Nichols and Amber Moseley. Both players posted 11 kills against Asbury, and Kaitlyn Hammett added four aces.
Gaylesville coach Chad Bynum said he was proud of his team for making history on Saturday.
“These girls did a remarkable job of advancing as far as they have,” Bynum said. “I don’t think any Gaylesville team has advanced this far since they instituted this regional format.
“Our girls know they have their work cut out for them in sub-state, but I don’t think they’re ready to quit just yet.”
