Two eighth grade students are the new spelling champions at Centre Middle School. In last week's spelling bee, the two students were among 35 students who were competing in the contest. Casey Garmon, daughter of Brenda and Johnny Johnson of Leesburg was the first place winner and Amanda Minnix, daughter of Tommy and Gina Minnix of Centre was the second place winner. Teresa Vaughn, teacher at CMS, served as the pronouncer for the bee and explained the rules before starting. Judges for the bee were Stephanie Burgess and Pam Miller, teachers at Centre Middle School
