One down, 149 to go … for the KTH Leesburg Products (KLP) company that currently is being constructed in Leesburg.

The industry which plans to begin production on components for the Honda plant in Lincoln by Nov. 1 last week began accepting applications for employment. It is expected to employ 150.

Already, KLP has one employee in place, according to Bill Post, senior manager for the parent KTH in St. Parris, Ohio.

Gadsden native Gene Cleveland has been hired as administration manager, Post said. He will be responsible for human resource functions, according to Post.

There's been no shortage of applicants for filling the approximately 150 vacancies that will exist as KLP begins operation in about seven months.

The firm that is scheduled to produce chassis parts for the Honda plant in Lincoln began accepting applications in Leesburg nine days ago and expects to begin hiring in the next three months, according to Post
