During an April 3 meeting at the Cherokee County National Guard Armory, Jerry Culberson of WLIA and Mel Williams of the Chamber of Commerce presented a letter sent from Federal Commissioner Lindsey Thomas to Govs. Don Seigelman of Alabama and Roy Barnes of Georgia as well as the ACT Formula Agreement negotiators and several other involved parties.

The Coosa River Basin Initiative, Alabama Rivers Alliance and Weiss Lake Improvement Association met to rally attendees for an April 12 press event in Montgomery.

The letter, which contains approximately 73 questions concerning the ACT proposal, was sent on March 15 to the above parties involved in signing off on the agreement. Questions and concerns raised in the letter are from the Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Southern Power Administration and the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Administration.

Recently, ACT negotiators visited Centre's Rotary Club meeting to speak about the positive qualities of the agreement. According to Culberson, the negotiators were aware of the questions raised by the aforementioned organizations but failed to mention them. This fact has caused many concerned citizens, including Culberson, to wonder why the negotiators did not acknowledge the concerns
