Such was the case Sunday in Cherokee County, which along with many other southern areas has been experiencing extremely dry conditions for nearly four years.
With strong thunder storms moving through, as much as four inches of rain fell on portions of the county in a two-hour period, creating flooding problems.
Along with the rain came strong winds and lightning, which resulted in wide-spread power outages
