Three people were killed and seven injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 68 west of Leesburg last week. The accident occurred Tuesday, Aug. 6, around 3 p.m.

According to the state trooper report, Jacinto Perez, 23 of Rome, Ga., who was driving a 1993 Ford Van passed a 1993 Dodge van. The Ford had almost cleared the Dodge when it pulled back into the proper lane, was clipped by the Dodge and began to roll.

Perez, along with two passengers, Armitania Hernandez, 25, and Jorge Hernandez, were killed in the accident. Ford passengers sustaining injuries, the report said, included Anacleto Chum, 36; Maximo Hernandez, Alfudo Ortego, 31; Abraham Cruz, 23; Edwin Rodriquez, 25 an Gerardo Rodriquez.

The driver of the Dodge, the report said, did not stop at the wreck and left to drop off passengers at work. The driver later returned to the scene, but was not identified by the AHP
