Some 2,700 Cherokee Electric Cooperative customers in Leesburg and surrounding areas found themselves without power for a period Thursday morning, Jan. 29.

According to a spokesperson for Cherokee Electric, the problem orginated from the Leesburg Substation.

Power was restored about 30 minutes later
