A Piedmont man died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Cherokee County Monday evening, July 5. The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m., five miles north of the Calhoun County line on Cherokee County Road 175.

According to the state trooper report, Jerry Wayne Fuqua, 23, apparently left the roadway while driving his 2002 Kawasaki, overturned and struck a tree
