A local investigation into forged checks in the area led to the arrest of two people in connection with a Rome, Ga. robbery last week.

Arrested, according to reports, were Rodrick Davion McKnight, 21, of Rome, Ga., and a 16-year-old female juvenile.

According to reports, Centre Police Investigator Arlon Reed was investigating forged checks at three Centre businesses and discovered that the forged checks came from a March 6 armed robbery in Rome, Ga., in which the victim’s purse was stolen. Reed notified Investigator Randy Gore of the Rome Police Department his suspicions that the same people passing the checks were the same ones responsible for the armed robbery. A photo line-up was put together, carried back to Rome and the victim identified the alleged robber out of the lineup.

Reed, reports said, called Gore advising him of a possible location of the gun used in the robbery and determined that it belonged to Rodrick Davion McKnight of Rome.

They are currently being held in the Rome Jail at this time. McKnight is facing charges of six counts of passing forged instruments in Centre and his juvenile accomplice is facing six counts of forgery, according to reports
