Injured, according to the state trooper report, was Bruce Williams, 70, who lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and overturned, pinning him in for a short time. Cherokee County Rescue Squad removed the victim using the jaws of life. Other responding agencies included Cherokee EMS, Cedar Bluff Fire Department, Cedar Bluff Police Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies and others.
Highway 9 was blocked for a period while emergency responders worked to free the victim from the vehicle.
He was transported to Baptist Cherokee by Cherokee EMS for treatment
