Davis several weeks ago announced that he had made some mistakes in the past that had come back to haunt him, and he would have to resign as mayor of Cedar Bluff, a position he had held since 1993.
Davis turned in his resignation, and at a special Town Council meeting Monday, it was accepted. Mayor Pro Tem Donald Sanders was unanimously elected to fill Davis’ unexpired term at that time.
