Nine teams competed in nine events over two evenings at Cherokee County High School in the recent 7th Annual Cherokee County Corporate Games.

A record 134 athletes represented these teams. Making their inaugural team appearance were KTH-Leesburg Products and Wal-Mart. The Corporate Games are sponsored by Regions Bank, Al Shumaker, Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and Baptist Cherokee.

The Cherokee Electric Coop displayed outstanding teamwork as they earned their 4th Corporate Championship Cup.

Throughout the games the athletes were provided drinks and snacks from Wal-Mart; Ingles and Piggly Wiggly. The participants were rewarded Saturday night with a meal by Real Pit Bar B Que and door prizes from: Wal-Mart; Three Corners Landfill; Cherokee Electric; The Secret Bed and Breakfast; DC Gas; Merle Norman; The Odyssey; Day’s Sporting Goods and The Works. Fruit of the Loom provided shirts with screen printing by Model T’s.

The coveted Sportsmanship Trophy was awarded to Wal-Mart
