A new business is coming to Leesburg.

At its Aug. 1 meeting, the Leesburg Twon Council agreed to rent office space in the town hall building to a Dr, Nichols for $650 per month. Fuller Vision formally rented the space.

In other business, the council approved a motion to sell a town-owned police car to the Cherokee County Sheriff Department for $3,000.

The council also agreed to contribute $300 toward the 2005 Cherokee County Farm City Days at the Sand Rock Live-stock Pavilion.

The council tabled a request from the Cherokee Hunmane Society for a $5,000 contribution.

Volunteer Fire Department member Joe Sonaty reported that the VFD recently had received a $250 donation from Fruit of the Loom. Sonaty noted that the department planned the use the funds to upgrade a VFD truck
