With a little more than two weeks remaining before the big game, Alabama-Auburn rivalry will accelerate in Centre with the traditional Auburn-Alabama blood drive, Thursday, Nov. 3.

Prospective blood donors will square off to support their favorite teams at the ROC (Recreational Outreach Center of First Baptist Church) from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday to make life-saving donations to the American Red Cross Blood Services.

All donors may specify which team will get credit for their donation and will receive an appropriate t-shirt. In addition, donors may register for either an autographed Alabama football signed by Jay Barker or an Auburn football signed by Coach Tommy Tuberville.

The footballs will be given away at the end of the blood drive when the final scores are counted. Last year’s score was Alabama 28 and Auburn 20. However, the real winners in any blood drive are the folks whose lives are saved by the precious fluid. Each unit of blood may be used to help as many as three persons.

Prospective donors must be at least 17 years old, in generally good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be able to furnish a picture ID. Donors are eligible every 56 days.
