Local governmental offices have announced their closings for the Thanksgiving Day Holiday.

Town halls in Cedar Bluff, Gaylesville, Leesburg and Sand Rock along with Centre City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Both Cherokee County Courthouse and the Chero-kee County Administration Building Offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Cherokee County schools will be closed today, Thursday and Friday. Gadsden State Community Col-lege/Cherokee County Cent-er will have no classes today, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Post offices in Cedar Bluff, Centre, Gaylesville, Leesburg and Spring Garden all will be closed Thursday, and there will be no mail delivery that day.

The Herald will observe Thanksgiving Day by closing Thursday but will be open normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

The following financial institutions will be closed Thursday:

-Union State Bank

-The Southern Bank Company

-Edward Jones
