This years parade, according to reports, had 103 participating units, including 11 floats, both Cherokee County High School and Sand Rock School marching bands, Shriners, Antique tractors, local Saddle clubs and numerous other attractions.
I think it went well, said Thereasa Hulgan with the Spirit of Cherokee, Inc. Committee. It was well-attended. We had a lot of people to make positive comments about it being changed to a daytime event. We did have some who said you couldnt see the lights as well. The police, rescue squad members were pleased. They felt it made things a lot safer and their jobs a lot easier.
WEIS Radio Personality Jerry Baker served as emcee for the parade, assisted by Office Manager Shelia Richardson.
