A Gaylesville man died as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident Thursday, Jan. 26. The accident occurred around 10:20 a.m. on Cherokee County Road 92, off Highway 35, near Cornwall Furnace between Cear Bluff and Gaylesville.

The driver, according to the police report, was identified as Charles Grissom, 70. He apparently lost control of his truck and left the road way. He was transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome where he later died from his injuries

The Cedar Bluff Police Department investigated the accident. Other responding agencies included Alabama State Troopers, Gaylesville Fire Department, Cherokee EMS and Cherokee County Rescue Squad
