The Centre Zoning Board has approved sight plans for two new businesses in the city limits.

During its Tuesday, April 25 meeting, the board met with Traci Tucker of TNT Fireworks and gave her permission for the company to place a stand in the Centre Wal Mart Parking lot from June 6 through July 4.

The board also met with Patsy and J.C. Toler with American Metal Corporation and approved their sight for a new retail business which will sell metal products. The sight is located on Highway 411 toward Leesburg.

According to Toler, they currently do businesses in Fort Payne and after receiving repeat business from this area, decided to expand to Cherokee County.

“Last year, we generated about $1 million in sales in Fort Payne,” said Toler. “We take a lot of pride in our company aand our employees and the people we deal with. We try to do what we are supposed to do and treat people the way we want to be treated.”
