According to Cherokee County Narcotics Agent Chas Clifton, Deputy Gene Knowles made the discovery. Agents have placed the area under surveillance since the plants recovery have gathered intelligence information.
Clifton estimated that plants are worth approximately $2,000 each for a total street value of around $70,000. They have a suspect in the case and an arrest could be forthcoming, he said.
Knowles' seizure added to the number of plants seized this year by the Sheriffs Department making over 500 marijuana plants seized thus far with three arrest or arrest warrants for suspects growing marijuana illegally in the county, Clifton said
