Humane Society President Freda Waters said the group is continuing its fund-raising efforts to raise money for a shelter in Cherokee County.
The group has asked the County Commission to take over the project. “It’s a win-win situation for the county,” Waters said.
Cherokee County has no animal control and no animal shelter. There is a desperate need for a facility, Waters said.
