At approximately 1:30 p.m., Lanny Ransum responded to a domestic disturbance call on Evans Street in Leesburg. Ransum investigated a cas of burglary in the third degree and domestic violence in the third degree harassment.
Cedar Bluff Police Chief Steve Walden, Ransum said, took the suspect into custody in Cedar Bluff without incident.
Arrested was Joshua White Woodall, 22 of Cedar Bluff, Alabama who was charged with burglary in the third degree and domestic violence in the third degree harassment.
At approximately 9:04 p.m., Cherokee County Deputies Matt Peek and Kirk Blankenship responded to an assault that occurred at Pine Cone Marina in Leesburg. The complainant stated he had been cut by another person. Leesburg Asst. Police Chief Lanny Ransum responded to the scene to conduct the investigation, reports said.
Cherokee EMS, Inc. carried the victim to Cherokee Medical Center. At approximately 10:20, p.m. officers on the scene took Danny Shelton Holcomb, 46, of Buford, Ga. into custody and charged him with assault in the second degree. He was also charged with failure to register as a convicted sex offender. He was transported to Cherokee County Detention Center, according to reports.
The victim, reports said, was identified as Lewis Samuel Jones, 64, of Leesburg, Alabama. Jones was released from the hospital and expected to make a full recovery.
