Sue Hurley retired Friday from Union State Bank after working there since 1946. Hurley said she marked her 80th birthday last week and decided it was time to move on. She was 18 years old and just out of school when she started in the bookkeeping department at what was then Cedar Bluff Bank. She retired as an assistant vice president. “Everyone here is like family,” she said during a reception Friday held in her honor. “I’m going to miss them. It’s a happy time, but a sad time.”
