Centre Waterworks and Sewer Board worked to repair a reported leak in the Centre downtown area Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 14, around 4 p.m.

According to reports, workers attempted to cut off the water at Cherokee County Courthouse. While they were working, the cutoff valve broke. Crews then drained surrounding fire hydrants to relieve some of the water pressure while repairing the cutoff valve
