Centre, Cedar Bluff and Leesburg Fire Departments responded to a housefire which caused extensive damage to a home on Keener Drive in Leesburg Tuesday morning, Dec. 18. The blaze was reported arouond 11 a.m.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, according to reports, they observed a large amount of smoke billowing from a bedroom at the rear of the home with flames coming through the windows.

The blaze apparently started because of faulty wiring in an electric blanket. No injuries were reported. One individual was treated for smoke inhalation
