On Tuesday, Jan. 8, Cherokee County Narcotics Unit and agents with the ABC Board arrested two people on drug charges following execution of a search warrant at 215 County Road 610 in the Lawrence community of Cherokee County.

Arrested, according to reports, were Jody Lee Armstrong and Wendy Easterling who were charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and several lesser charges. Armstrong also had a probation violation.

According to Mark Hicks with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, agents seized a quantity of methamphetamine along with equipment used to construct a meth lab along with a pill extraction (for separating the ingredients of pills).



There was also a three-year-old child at the residence and agents called the Department of Human Resources to take custody of the child, Hicks said
