Gaylesville man arrested for thef | Loca

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department has arresed a Gaylesville man on theft charges following an incident at Gaylesville School.

The suspect was identified as Caleb Tyler McCord, 18, who was charged with theft of property in the second degree.

Cherokee County Investigator Mark Hicks said Employees discovered a laptop computer missing from the library of the school. Officials reviewed the school’s surveillance equipment and were able to identify a suspect.

Deputy Sheriff Scott McGinnis responded to the school, filled out a report, and then transported the suspect to the sheriff`s office for questioning, Hicks said.

The suspect admitted to the theft and accompanied law enforcement officers to a residence where they recovered the computer valued at $932.

McCord was released on a $2,500 bond, reports said
