The suspect was identified as Caleb Tyler McCord, 18, who was charged with theft of property in the second degree.
Cherokee County Investigator Mark Hicks said Employees discovered a laptop computer missing from the library of the school. Officials reviewed the schools surveillance equipment and were able to identify a suspect.
Deputy Sheriff Scott McGinnis responded to the school, filled out a report, and then transported the suspect to the sheriff`s office for questioning, Hicks said.
The suspect admitted to the theft and accompanied law enforcement officers to a residence where they recovered the computer valued at $932.
McCord was released on a $2,500 bond, reports said
