Cherokee County Schools started classes two hours late Wednesday morning, Feb. 6, because of threatening weather.

Beverly Daniel, director, Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency, said her office was in contact with the Cherokee County Board of Education. Reports indicated that some severe thunderstorms with high winds and possibly tornadoes were headed toward this area.

Most of the severe weather, however, headed north of Cherokee County and there were no problems reported in this area, she said
