Some 800 residents were without power for around 40 minutes Wednesday evening after a tree fell across a double circuit in the Tate's Chapel Community. Power initially went out around 8:20 p.m.
According to a spokesperson for Cherokee Electric Cooperative, the accident blew two fuses at the Centre Substation, resulting in outages in Sand Valley and Centre areas.
Power was restored shortly before 9 p.m., reports said
