At approximately 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, officers from the Cherokee County Narcotics Unit, The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and Alabama ABC Officers executed Arrest Warrants and a search Warrant in the New Moon area of Cherokee County. During the arrest and search warrant, agents discover two meth labs at two different locations. Agents with the Alabama Bureau of Investigation were called to respond with a HAZ-MAT trailer to remove chemicals found at both locations. A large quantity of Methamphetamine along with Marijuana was also recovered from each location.



Those arrested, according to reports, includ, Danny Ray Cavin, 52, of 555 Co. Rd. 135 Gaylesville Alabama; Dusty Ray Cavin, 23 of 755 Co Rd. 135 Gaylesville Alabama; Lewis Arthur Grace Jr., 28, of Gaylesville Alabama, and Sidney Northrup, 44, of Fort Payne,Ala.



The charges range from Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Manufacture of a Controlled Substance, Distribution of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. All four persons arrested were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.



These arrest are the results of a long investigation conducted by the Officers of the Cherokee County Narcotics Unit.
