Liberty Day in Cedar Bluff should be a blast this year with added attractions and the fireworks display that will light up Weiss Lake on Saturday night.

New this year is paid designated parking. Parking on Alabama Highway 68 and in the parking lots of the bank and shopping center will be paid.

Golf carts will transport people to and from the park so no one will have to walk a long distance. The $2 fee is for all day and will all go to a police fund for Taser guns.

The Huntsville Space and Rocket Center is back this year with its space attraction and Mama’s Turtles will have giant tortoises for children to meet and ride.

The Cedar Bluff Park and Recreation Committee is selling chances on pop-up tents and camping equipment. The proceeds will be used to buy equipment for the town park, which is being renovated.

Committee member Nell Oliver said she has lined up lots of vendors with a good mix of food and snacks to be offered
