Cedar Bluff's boys' basketball team held off Gaylesville 73-70 in an intra-county battle last week, while the Cedar Bluff girls also were victorious over the Lady Trojans 50-31. In other boys' games, Spring Garden topped Ohatchee 65-60 and Cedar Bluff 57-52, Sand Rock trimmed Gaston 55-44 but lost to Valley Head 45-43, Cherokee County bested Sylvania 81-58 and Cedar Bluff handed Georgia School for the Deaf a 69-37 setback. After knocking off Valley Head 43-41, the Sand Rock girls were handed their first loss by Gaston 60-41. The Cherokee County girls lost to Sylvania 48-36, Spring Garden beat Ohatchee 51-38 and Appalachian 55-54, and Cedar Bluff turned back Georgia School for the Deaf 51-10
