Josh Moten’s theme song for this school year should be Shaquille O’Neal’s rap classic “I Got Skillz!”

Cedar Bluff’s All-State receiver in football showed once again last Thursday that his athletic prowess does not take a break during the winter months, as the junior shooting guard notched his first triple double of the season in the Tigers’ 87-70 win over host Spring Garden.

The victory raised the Bluff’s re-cord to 12-2, including a 5-0 mark in Area 10 action.

Moten scored 31 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 10 as-sists.

The talented Tiger also had a ste-llar game on the defensive end with six steals.

Brandon Langley chipped in a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards, while Timmy Bradley tallied 10 points.

Ben Kiser scored 23 points for the Panthers, (including four 3-point baskets), followed by Jimmy Morrison with 19 and Lane Garner with 12.

Although Cedar Bluff did not gain its first points by the semi-traditional Bradley-to-Maddrick Long alley-oop pass-and-dunk, six Langley points in the contest’s opening minutes helped the visitors to a 10-4 lead, and the Tigers never trailed the rest of the way.

Bradley’s two 3-pointers early in the second frame increased the Ti-ger advantage to 30-17, and Moten’s 10 points in the quarter’s final four minutes offset Morrison’s eight se-cond period points to give Cedar Bluff a 47-31 halftime lead.

The visitors continued to go to Moten in the third quarter, with the hot-handed Tiger contributing nine points to help extend the Bluff advantage to 66-45 heading into the final eight minutes.

Kiser stepped up to notch 13 fourth quarter points to keep the Panthers in the game, but Moten’s trey early in the period put Cedar Bluff up by 22, and Adam Wick-ham’s two 3-point baskets down the stretch iced the Tigers first win of the new year.

CEDAR BLUFF (87): Josh Moten 31, Brandon Langley 13, Timmy Bradley 10, Lance McCullough 9, Will George 8, Adam Wickham 8, Roger Jones 6, Maddrick Long 2.

SPRING GARDEN (70): Ben Kiser 23, Jimmie Morrison 19, Lane Garner 12, Jason Miller 9, Joe Smith 3, Scott Tierce 2, Dustin Mobley 2
