For the second year in a row, Sand Rock (30-10) took the runner-up spot to No. 8 (Class 1A-3A) Geraldine in the Class 2A, Area 10 Tournament .

Playing four matches in a row on Oct. 20, the Lady Wildcats defeated Fyffe twice and lost to the host Lady Bulldogs twice .

Geraldine (35-8) captured its sixth straight area title after posting a 24-26, 25-12, 15-11 victory over the Lady Rockers.

Sand Rock opened with a 25-23, 34-32 win over the Lady Red Devils before falling to Geraldine 25-6, 25-23.

The Lady ‘Cats overcame Fyffe 25-18, 23-25, 15-8 in the playback game before losing to the Lady ‘Dogs in the finals.

For Sand Rock, Anna Norris distributed 60 assists.

Angelique Kordich collected 28 kills, followed by Christan Ferguson with 25, Haley Hincy with 10, Taylor Burt with nine and Sandy Trail with six.

Trail served up seven aces.

Ferguson had five blocks, while Hincy had three.

Burt came up with 34 digs, followed by Trail with 20.

Burt, Kordich and Norris made the All-Area Tournament team
