Eight will get you nine on the 2003 All-County football team.

Cedar Bluff’s 8-4 record was the best among the five county high school gridiron squads, earning the Tigers nine selections on the county’s postseason honor roll.

Making the list from Cedar Bluff is senior running back Mark Clifton, senior lineman T.J. Henderson, senior tight end Brandon Langley, senior kicker Adam Weaver, senior lineman Brandon White, junior linebacker Derek Chesnut, junior lineman Josh Hampton, sophomore running back Jeremy Bryant and sophomore quarterback Matt Wilson.

Earning the runner-up spot with eight selections is CCHS (6-4), which named senior linebacker Matt Green, senior lineman Brandon Stubbs, senior receiver Adam Wickham, junior linebacker Cedric Covington, junior lineman Ryan Law, junior lineman Will Miller, junior running back Jeffrey Woods and sophomore defensive back Quentin Price.

Gaylesville (4-6) players feature senior receiver Nick James, senior receiver Chris Perry, senior quarterback Chris Steele, junior linebacker Jeremy Long and junior running back Jerry Stancil.

The Sand Rock (3-7) roster contributes senior running back Jonathan White, senior receiver Cody Adams and junior receiver Jordy Fleming.

Spring Garden (1-9) selections include senior running back Carl Hairrell and junior receiver Skooter Crawford.

The Honorable Mention team features Sand Rock’s Brian Beck, Rustin Kruckenberg, Brett McCoy, Brody Moses Ben Parker and Evan Wilborn; Cherokee County’s Gerrick Glass, Hershel Granger and Zac Morgan; Gaylesville’s Kyle Canada, Corey Colbert and Richie Grimes, and Spring Garden’s Charles Doss, Ryan Masters and Joe Smith
