Gaylesville started out strong at the Geraldine New Years Tournament last week, but came up short in the final two games.

The Trojans (5-10, 1-4) posted a 69-67 victory over Valley Head before losing 74-66 to Skyline and 66-49 to Fyffe.

Against Valley Head on Dec. 29, Chris Steele scored 21 points, followed by Casey Blankenship with 17, Chris Perry with 16 and Jerry Stancil with 10.

Stancil pulled down 17 rebounds, while Dustin Crane grabbed eight and Blankenship with seven.

Perry distributed nine assists, while Steele dished out eight.

Stancil came up with seven steals, followed by Steele with five and Blankenship with four.

Blankenship had five blocks.

Against Skyline on Dec. 30, Steele scored 31 points, followed by Blankenship with 10 and Stancil and Perry with nine each.

Stancil had 12 rebounds, while Steele and Crane each grabbed six.

Steele and Perry each dealt out five assists, while Blankenship had four steals.

Against Fyffe on Jan. 2, Steele scored 19 points, followed by Stancil, Perry and Blankenship with eight each.

Stancil pulled down 14 rebounds, while Nick James grabbed eight.
