The No.3 Cherokee County Lady Warriors (18-4, 6-0) gained their second win of the season over Alexandria, a 45-15 victorylast Friday.



The Lady Warriors had a 9-5 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Cherokee County’s solid post play led to a 10-0 second period run that helped put CCHS up 19-5 at halftime.

The Lady Warriors outscored the Valley Cubs 14-5 in the third period.

Behind Jordan Morgan’s nine fourth quarter points, Cherokee County continued the scoring clinic and went on to steamroll the Lady Valley Cubs by 30 points.

The Lady Warriors' leading scorer was Morgan with 15 points, followed by Rachel Kennerly with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Whitney Bowers had six points, five rebounds and four steals, and Jamie Jackson had five points and six assists.

Hali Tash led Alexandria with 5 points.

CCHS got an early lead and never gave Alexandria another opportunity to get back into the game.

The Warriors came out in the third quarter continuing to dominate the post with six inside baskets while allowing the Lady Valley Cubs only 10 second half points.

Cherokee County had 12 forth quarter points on the way to their eighteenth win of the season.

CCHS (45): Jordan Morgan 15, Rachel Kennerly 12, Whitney Bowers 6, Jamie Jackson 5, Anna Kisor 3, Heather Bradley 2, Carrie Machelight 2.

ALEXANDRIA (15): Hali Tash 5, JoAnna Brooks 4, Katie Phillips 3, Haley Henderson 3
