Spring Garden junior Mikie Garner has been selected to play in the North/South All-Star basketball game during Alabama All-Star Sports Week in Montgomery.

Garner’s North squad will face the South team on July 15 at 6 p.m. at the Auburn University-Montgomery Physical Education Complex. The North/South boys’ contest begins at 8 p.m.

All-Star Sports Week, which also includes in-state all-star games in volleyball, baseball, football, softball and soccer, will feature clinic and special sessions for coaches, athletic directors, cheerleader coaches and officials. A product ex-position and other related activities are scheduled throughout the week.

Garner’s North teammates include DeWanna Bonner of Fairfield, Blair Bowens of Deshler, Whitney Boddie of Bradshaw, Amber Rutherford of Hatton, Sherell Hobbs of J.O. Johnson, Monica Hilson and Angel Tate of Wenonah, Heather Hollis of Sulligent, Monica Maxwell of Sparkman, Sammeika Thrash of Ramsay, Ashley Boykin of Haleyville, Julie Andrews of Sylvania, Atiya Lashay Jackson of Buckhorn and Ashley Fann of Hazel Green.
